About Us

Douglas Alorgbey is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and a member of various medical associations such as the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and Society of Hospital Medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine.

He was born in Sege, Ghana, and completed his medical education in Cuba before moving to the Caribbean and eventually the United States. Dr. Alorgbey has worked as a Hospitalist and a primary care physician and is affiliated with the Hospitals of Providence and University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He is also bilingual in Spanish and English and enjoys serving Greater El Paso.

Dr. Alan L. Carpenter, D.O., is a retired Army Lt. Colonel (26 years) whose vast medical background dates back over three decades. Dr. Carpenter's medical experience includes board certifications in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine, 18 years of Emergency Room experience, and 16 years of Urgent Care Experience. Dr. Norma Carpenter, DNP, APRN, NP-C Norma Carpenter has 35 years of healthcare and hospital knowledge, with 23 years as a nurse and 12 years as a nurse practitioner. She has experience in telemetry, emergency room, urgent care, and clinical management. She also enjoys running triathlons, half-marathons, and marathons to promote health awareness and is a part-time lecturer at Baylor University graduate school.

Jose Luis Rincon graduated from Texas Tech University in 2011 and has been practicing ever since. He is specialized in emergency medicine and has been part of the Upper Valley Urgent Care team since 2021. He enjoys spending time with his children at volleyball and soccer games.

Manish Rawat graduated from military Inter-service Physician Assistant program school and has been in practice since 2010. He is specialized in family and emergency medicine and has been part of the Upper Valley Urgent Care team since 2016. He recently retired from the U.S. Army and he enjoys reading books and traveling.

Jose Luis Rodriguez is a University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston alumni graduating in 1994. He has over 29 years of experience in the field of medicine and works alongside many providers in the El Paso region. He is fluent in English and Spanish and enjoys providing quality care to patients here at Upper Valley Urgent Care Center.

Shadae Martinez completed her Nurse Practitioner degree from Texas Tech University. She was a medic for the US Army for five years and has over six year's experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department. She's friendly, very knowledgable and will work hard to get you in and out fast and feeling much better after your visit to Upper Valley Urgent Care Center.

K. Max Richard is a highly dedicated healthcare professional with a wealth of experience in the military and civilian medical sectors. Graduating from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2012, he has been a stalwart in the healthcare field for over a decade.

Currently holding the rank of Major in the Army Reserve, Mr. Richard boasts an impressive 23-year tenure of service. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare providers is evident through his role as a preceptor for physician assistant students at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina prior to moving to the Sun City!

Specializing in occupational medicine, flight medicine, and urgent care, Mr. Richard brings a unique blend of expertise to Upper Valley Urgent Care Center. His passion for ensuring the health and well-being of individuals, particularly in high-stakes environments, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the field.
